Two lanes were closed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

SARASOTA COUNTY -- A boat ended up on Interstate 75 after a crash Thursday morning and a dog was rescued from the wreck, the Florida Highway Patrol and Sarasota County Emergency Services report.

According to the FHP, a semi-trailer driven by Arderusi Lamar Sneed, 30, of Center Point, Alabama, was heading south in the center lane of I-75 at about 9:30 a.m. approaching the State Road 681 exit. A Ford F-350 driven by Robert A. Lehman, 55, of Sarasota towing a boat was next to the semi in the right lane. The semi changed lanes into the right lane and struck the Ford. The boat was dislodged and landed on the interstate. The semi traveled onto the shoulder and overturned.

Sneed, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with minor injures. Sarasota County firefighters saved a dog from the overturned semi. Neither Lehman nor a passenger, who were both wearing seat belts, were injured.

The crash, which closed two lanes of I-75 for hours, remains under investigation.
